Notes of the meeting held at the Golf Club on Tuesday 11 February 2025

24 people attended the meeting.

The speaker for this meeting was Bob Hodgson, who was introduced by David Holt.

Bob Hodgson is a World Bank Consultant, who has worked in many countries round the world and since retiring has been involved, with his wife, in charities in Ashbourne.Bob has been involved in International Economic Perspectives for 50+ years. The world is complex and chaotic and simple solutions don’t cut it. Bob felt that his job was “collecting mistakes”.

Bob then used 4 interesting projects that he had been involved in to provide examples of issues that he had confronted and helped progress. The projects were from different areas of the world and covered the period from 1983 to 2015. Return to recent TalksProblems need resolution by horizontal communication, not vertical.

He finished by summarising the current global trends and challenges.

There was a lively Q & A session following the talk.
